Chapter 28 - Whirlwind
“How can I have some peace of mind?” the young boy asked. “My mind has been a whirlwind, it feels like complete chaos in there.”
The Universe said, “That’s because of the thoughts you have allowed to reign free in your mind.”
“But what can I do? I can’t stop from thoughts coming into my mind, can I?”
The Universe said, “You don’t have to stop them. Just don’t let them settle and pitch their tents there. The thoughts that disturb you are the ones that linger in there.”
“How can I do that?”
The Universe said, “Don’t let such unwelcome drop-ins destroy your peace. Just observe them. Let different thoughts come in as they will, you keep observing them with detachment. Don’t let them disturb you or generate any emotions in you, it will be easy when you are busy observing them. And as you observe them, the thoughts you don’t want will get too conscious and leave.”
The young boy gave a clap and said, “Like a stranger who has been staring at you, if I catch their eye, they immediately look away!”
The Universe laughed and said, “Yeah something like that.”
The young boy smiled.
