Look Inside

Chapter 30 - Really Really Bad

“If this is a loving universe, and we are powerful beings, then why do I sometimes not get what I really really want?” the young boy asked.

The Universe said, “It’s precisely because you want it really really bad. Your energy for it is of desperation, and that feeling comes from a sense of lack, not abundance. To have a thing you must first think and feel as if you already have it. That is the secret of existence.”

“And if you are doing that and still not getting it, then the only reason is that you are too attached to it. It’s important to have a strong desire for something, to want it with all of your heart, to believe you can have it, to expect it to be yours any moment, and act as if you already have it.”

“But it’s also important to not get too attached to it, to stake your happiness on the attainment of that particular goal. You should want it, not need it. In fact you should be a cool cat even if you don’t get it.”

“Some things are meant for you, some aren’t. Some are good for you, some not so much. Trust that, what’s good will come at the right time, if not something better will come along soon. So detach from the outcomes and focus on your efforts while singing and dancing much.”

“That part I can get on board with right away,” said the young boy and kicked off his shoes.

The Universe smiled. Seriousness was the enemy of attainment.
